UK Ceiling Fans Ltd ("we", "us") is the data controller for personal information collected through ukceilingfans.co.uk. We keep things simple: we collect only what we need to give you a price and carry out your installation, and we don't sell or share your details for marketing.
Quote requests. When you use our form we collect your postcode, email address and the number of rooms, so we can send your photo checklist and confirm whether we cover your area. You can also give us a mobile number, but this is optional. We use it only to follow up on your inquiry, for example if we haven't been able to reach you by email, and never for marketing.
Photos and correspondence. When you email us photos of your room, we use them to assess the job, confirm your fixed price, and brief your electrician. Your photos are shared with the electrician assigned to your installation and with no one else.
Booking and payment details. If you book, we collect your name, address and contact details to arrange delivery and installation. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card details.
We process your information because it's necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract (your quote), to perform that contract (your installation), and where we have a legitimate interest in running our business — for example keeping records of jobs and correspondence.
Only the people needed to deliver your installation:
We do not sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Quote enquiries that don't become bookings are deleted within 12 months. Records of completed installations (including the electrical certificate) are kept for 6 years, as we may need them for warranty, insurance or legal purposes.
You can ask us at any time to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it (where we don't have a legal reason to keep it). Just email hello@ukceilingfans.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site — for example which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from. Google Analytics sets cookies on your device to do this. We don't use advertising cookies, and we don't use analytics data to identify you. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings without affecting your ability to use the site or request a quote.
