The rest of the world already knows

Not new. Just new here.

Common across America, Australia, India, the Gulf and West Africa for generations — the standard, unglamorous answer to a hot room. Now, after four summers of records, they're increasingly finding their way into British homes too. Not a novelty. Just the normal thing we skipped.

No quotes. No site visits. No chasing trades.

Your photos are the survey. That's how we can confirm a fixed price up front — and send a qualified local electrician who's already seen the job.

Feel the difference

Most installations take under 90 minutes. Fan, light, remote — working before they leave.

Pick your fan. Add your installation. That's your price.

Two simple choices: the fan that suits your room, and the installation your ceiling needs. Every price includes fitting by a qualified electrician, the electrical certificate, and the fan's full manufacturer warranty — confirmed as one fixed figure before you pay.

Doing more than one room?

Most homes start with two — the bedroom, where you notice the heat at night, and the living room, where you spend your evenings.

When your electrician fits more than one fan in the same visit, there's only one call-out to cover — so every room after the first gets £120 off its installation. Tell us how many rooms in the booking and we'll price them together.

“But I saw a fan for £60 in the shop…”

You did — and you'd still need to get it up there. Industry cost guides put a one-off ceiling fan installation by an electrician at £230–£510, averaging around £340 — so the “cheap” route usually lands at £300–£570 all told, before you've checked the fan and electrician are even compatible. And budget fans usually mean a humming motor, wobbling blades and a one-year warranty. Our installation price buys a photo-scoped job, a fixed figure confirmed up front, a qualified electrician who's seen your ceiling before arriving, and the certificate for the work. And if you've already found a fan you love, we'll just fit that one — install-only below.

Already bought a fan you love? Installation-only from £249 — just tell us in the booking.

Ceiling fan, installed by us
£389 all-in. Pennies to run.

A quiet DC motor overhead makes a room feel noticeably cooler. One fixed price, qualified installation — and it's your light too.

Not just for heatwaves.

Every fan we fit has a winter mode. Flick it into reverse at low speed and it gently pushes the warm air pooled at your ceiling back down to where you are — so the room feels warmer without touching the thermostat.

It's why ceiling fans make sense in Britain all year round, not just for six hot weeks. Summer downdraft to keep you cool; winter updraft to stop your heating drifting straight past you.

And unlike fixed air conditioning — which needs an outdoor condenser unit bolted to your wall, and often planning permission and freeholder or landlord consent to go with it — a ceiling fan is a straightforward internal job. No outdoor unit, nothing fixed to the outside of the building. If you rent or you're in a flat or a leasehold, it's often far simpler to arrange than air conditioning.

Fair questions.

Britain's new to ceiling fans. Ask away.

Are ceiling fans expensive to run?

The opposite. The low-energy DC-motor fans we fit use around 3–30 watts depending on speed — roughly a penny or two an hour at typical settings. Left on all day through a hot week, it costs less than a coffee.

Do they actually work, or is it just moving hot air around?

They work on you, not the room. Moving air evaporates moisture from your skin — the wind-chill effect — so a room at 26°C feels closer to 22–23°C under a fan. It's the same reason a breeze feels good on a hot day.

What actually makes your fans better than a £60 one?

Mostly the motor. Cheap fans use AC motors that hum and buzz; the DC motors we fit are near-silent and use a fraction of the power. You're also paying for balanced blades that don't wobble, a proper multi-year manufacturer warranty rather than twelve months, an integrated LED light and remote, and qualified installation certified for the work. It's the difference between something you tolerate and something you forget is even there — until the room's cool.

Will it replace my ceiling light?

It becomes your ceiling light. Every fan we fit has an integrated LED light and remote control — most work with your existing wall switch too. You lose nothing and gain a fan.

Are ceiling fans safe? My ceiling is old.

That's exactly why an electrician fits them. Every installation uses a fan-rated fixing secured to the ceiling structure — never just the old light fitting's screws — and your photos tell us in advance if your ceiling needs extra support, so it's priced in, not discovered on the day.

Can you fit fans in more than one room?

Yes — and it's cheaper per room when we do them together. There's only one call-out to cover for the whole visit, so each room after the first costs less than booking it on its own. Tell us how many rooms in the booking and we'll price them as one job.

What if the job turns out different from my photos?

If the ceiling structure differs materially from what's visible in your photos, your electrician explains the difference and confirms any change with you before starting — and if you'd rather not go ahead, you cancel on the spot for a full refund.
